A Brisbane woman has had a sleepless night, wondering if she really was last night’s division one winner and suddenly a millionaire.

The south-east Queenslander held the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4109, drawn Wednesday 1 September 2021. She takes home a $1 million prize.

Sharing her shock with us this morning, the woman broke down in tears when the news was confirmed.

“Thank you very much,” she cried with happiness.

“I checked my ticket last night and I thought it was fake!

“I was shaking and had butteries.

“I couldn’t believe it but now I know it’s real, I feel really emotional.

“I had hardly any sleep because I kept wondering if it could be true. The thought of winning the lottery kept me awake all night.

“I’ve been playing for years and years and I cannot believe that this has finally happened!”

With one-million-dollars coming her way, the winning woman shared she’d need time to think about what life would be like as a millionaire.

“Oh gosh,” she said.

“I’m not too sure what I’ll do yet, I’m going to have to think about it.

“I’ve always dreamt of doing lots of things if I won the lottery.

“I’ve got a very old car, so I think I would want a new car to begin with!”

Her life-changing 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Bridgeman Newsagency, Shop 51, 45 & 52 Aspley Hypermarket, 59 Albany Creek Road, Aspley.

Bridgeman Newsagency store manager Holly Foran said it was amazing to hear the prize had gone to a local.

“We’re so excited to know that one of our local and regular customers has won this prize,” she said.

“Of course we are all a little jealous, but we’re very happy for her.

“The last division one winning entry we sold was in 2017, so we’re thrilled to have done it again!”
