A Gunnedah couple is happily looking for the perfect home for them and their dogs after scoring more than $3.3 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The New South Wales duo held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4195 on 2 October 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $3,333,333.34.

“It’s wonderful,” the winning woman exclaimed when speaking to us this morning.

“We couldn’t sleep a wink at all last night.

“My husband checked the ticket yesterday – he checked it four times, actually.

“He said, ‘guess what? We’ve got six numbers’. I said, ‘what?’.

“You beauty! Three million dollars!

“We’ve been struggling for so long. It’s come at a wonderful time. It will make a big difference for us.

“We’ll be getting a nice house and great place for our dogs.

“It’s going to make life easier, and we’ll be able to help the kids out as well.”

The couple purchased their winning entry at Gunnedah Newsagency, 260 Conadilly Street, Gunnedah.

It’s the first division one win in the New England region so far this year.

Gunnedah Newsagency owner John Sturgess said the win had been the talk of the town.

“Everyone wanted to know if it was true and who it was,” he said.

“What a great feeling to have the opportunity to be involved in changing someone’s life.

“Customers are congratulating staff on selling the ticket and are happy that someone in our midst has struck it lucky.

“While we’ve sold a few 1st Prizes in Lucky Lotteries, the last division one prize we sold was in Set for Life in 2016. It’s great to see another win land in the region.”

“We want to thank the winner for being our customer, and we hope it will change their life in a positive manner.”
