While most people dream of winning the lottery and relaxing, Inverell’s latest Lotto division one winner is looking forward to retiring from work so she can write a book and study.

The New South Wales player held one of four division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4026, drawn Monday 16 November 2020 and takes home a division one prize of $1 million.

This morning, the hardworking woman stepped out of work to answer a life-changing call from us.

“Okay you’ve gotten me all nervous now,” she laughed moments before her windfall was revealed.

“Holy sh*t!

“You are kidding me?

“Oh my god!

“This is fantastic!

“I am definitely going to do some celebrating. I will have some champagne and call my family on Skype for a bit of a celebration party. They live all over Australia, so that’s the best we can do at the moment.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her windfall, the excited woman had no hesitation.

“I might look at retiring from work,” she explained.

"I would love to finally write a book and spend more time focusing on my art.

“I could even look at doing more study, which I never really thought about.

“Next year I will shout my family to a holiday as well.”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 12-game QuickPick entry from Inverell Newsagency, 30-32 Otho Street, Inverell.

Inverell Newsagency owner Anthony Michael said the outlet was celebrating selling a million-dollar winning ticket.

“It’s fantastic news!” he said. “It’s been particularly tough for Inverell these past two years, so this is just awesome.

“The whole community will be ecstatic for our winner.

“The winner called me before to let me know. She wasn’t sure if it was real. She is very happy now!

“It’s a life-changing win and I couldn’t be more thrilled that we’ve helped one of our customers become a millionaire.

“I wish her all the best with her prize.

“This is our first million-dollar winner. It’s the biggest we’ve had since we’ve taken over the store, so I couldn’t be happier.”
