A Numurkah man is happily upgrading his retirement plans after today discovering he became an overnight millionaire earlier this week.

The happy winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4025, drawn Wednesday 11 November 2020 and takes home a division one prize of $1 million.

Confirming his win with us this afternoon, the winner explained he’d only just made the exciting discovery almost two days after the draw.

“Thank you very much,” he gushed.

“I had no idea!

“We just went down to the newsagency to put the lotto on and that’s when we checked the ticket.

“It’s amazing. I’m in a bit of a daze.

“We’ve been playing for a very long time so it’s extraordinary to have a win!
“I can’t believe it’s finally happened.

“It’s going to take a while to sink in!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar windfall, the Victorian said he’d find plenty of good uses for his Lotto loot.

“We will have to have a good think,” he said.

“We’re retired so I have no doubt we will have plenty of time to make the most of it.

“We will enjoy it, don’t you worry about that!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Numurkah Foodworks, 87 Melville Street, Numurkah.

Numurkah Foodworks owner Bradley Kerry said the win marked a special milestone for the outlet.

“It’s fantastic because we only just took over ownership of the store five weeks ago,” he explained.

“We feel so happy to have sold a division one winning entry so soon.

“It’s great news for the community, as soon as people started to find out there had been a big win there was such a buzz.

“It’s even better knowing it’s been claimed by a local. Congratulations to them!”
