Just when a Raceview father thought his public holiday couldn’t get any better, he ended the day with a million-dollar win after scoring division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto.

The Ipswich resident held one of the two division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4118, drawn Monday 4 October 2021, and pocketed $1,003,061.50.

Sharing his euphoria with us this morning, the winning man was still in a state of shock after making the discovery.

“Wow! I still can’t believe it,” the stoked bloke laughed.

“I was woken up by my little one in the early hours of the morning, so I logged into The Lott app and checked the results.

“As soon as I saw I’d won over a million dollars, I thought to myself, ‘is this real?’ and ‘am I being pranked?’.

“My family don’t know the exciting news yet. I was planning to ring them later today. My partner won’t believe me!

“This is a day I’ll simply never forget.”

With more than $1 million about to hit his bank account, the Queenslander already had some ideas in mind.

“I’d like to put the money towards the house. It would be nice to build a pool for the family as well,” he shared.

“After yesterday’s heatwave, I think it’s the right decision! The kids will think me later.”

It’s the seventh division one win to land in the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley & Somerset region this year.

These wins have scored more than $17.6 million in division one prize money.

The jolly winner who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his System 7 QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
