Chermside man in his 20s admits he’s suddenly feeling excited about the future and is ready to set himself up for the rest of his life after winning $1 million in the weekend’s Gold Lotto draw.

The Queenslander held one of the five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4225, drawn Saturday 26 March 2022 – pocketing $1,146,608.15.

When we called the hardworking man this morning to break the surprising news, he had no idea he was holding a division one winning ticket.

“I’m at work right now, and I haven’t checked my Gold Lotto ticket yet. I rarely check my tickets after buying them,” he revealed.

“Are you sure you’re talking to the right person? This feels like it’s a mistake.

“This is awesome. It feels great!

“I’m taken aback by this! I’m a millionaire. What the hell?

“I think it’s starting to hit me now. I’m starting to shake! This is amazing.

“I’ll keep working for the rest of the day. I can’t leave now and let my boss and my team down, but I’ll do some celebrating this evening.

“I’ll pop a few beers. I’m not sure if I’ll tell anyone just yet. It still doesn’t feel 100% real.

“I’m only in my early 20s, so this prize will set me up for the rest of my life.

“Everything is getting so much more expensive, and wages aren’t matching the changes, so I’ve been stressed lately.

“This means I’ll be able to buy myself a house and do the things I’ve always wanted to do.

“I’ll plan a few holidays and things like that. I’ll probably invest some too, so the money will continue to grow.”

The young man purchased his winning 36-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
