The second Superdraw of 2021 certainly delivered with eight new multi-millionaires setting their sights on what the rest of the year, and their life, may hold with a $2.5 million division one prize.

The winners in Saturday night’s $20 million Superdraw event were spread far and wide across the country, with five wins landing in the Sunshine State, and one each in Tasmania, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

As always, our favourite part of the event is confirming the win with our players and hearing their plans for their windfall, and Saturday was no exception. Here are some of our favourite reactions and dreams.

Darwin man almost doesn’t buy his winning entry

A Darwin local shared he almost didn’t buy his $2.5 million winning entry because he was in a rush, but thought ‘bugger it, I’m here now’. And lucky he did!

When we spoke to the winner on Tuesday afternoon he revealed he was oblivious to his division one win for several days until he checked his ticket on a whim.

“It’s unbelievable! I had no idea!” he exclaimed.

The generous bloke told us he wanted to help set up his friends and family first, before planning a holiday exploring Australia for himself.

Keeping it in the family

Four Sunshine Coast siblings have a long-held family tradition to thank for their Saturday Superdraw win.

The siblings have been playing their late mother’s numbers as a private family syndicate since she passed away a year ago and shared they knew their mum was looking down on them on Saturday night.

The siblings didn’t have any grand plans for their $2.5 million yet but did want to help out their children and celebrate as a family.

“As soon as we can, we are having a huge party,” the syndicate leader revealed.

Re-evaluating retirement

A Mareeba man is looking forward to rewriting his retirement plans after his entry won division one in Saturday’s draw!

After playing for many years and having an inkling that one day he would win, the Queenslander wasn’t prepared for the life-changing news.

“What are the odds of that? I have been playing for a long time!” he said.

The winner told us he and his wife are looking forward to upgrading their retirement plans and are grateful to have the time to really enjoy their win.

In addition to eight division one winners, there were over two million winners in divisions 2-6 sharing in over $23 million in prize money!

Stay tuned for our next Saturday Lotto Superdraw…we have no doubt it will be a big one!
