Mudgeeraba woman to retire immediately with division one win

This morning a sleepless Mudgeeraba woman contacted us to confirm the life-changing news.

“I worked a night shift on Saturday night and then checked my lottery ticket,” she explained.

“I checked it about 10 times. I couldn’t believe it.

“I haven’t been able to sleep since!

“It’s so surreal really, because I have never won anything in my life.

“It’s absolutely fantastic! It’s lovely. My head is going around in circles.

“I am well over-due to retire. I am going to take a big holiday and then retire!

“It’s amazing!”

The overwhelmed Mudgeeraba woman purchased her 24-game marked entry at Mudgeeraba Newsagency, Shop 23, Mudgeeraba Markets, 3 Swan Lane, Mudgeeraba.

Mudgeeraba Newsagency employee Tina Fullerton said she was over-the-moon to be part of the winning moment.

“It was amazing to be part of the excitement when she came in to double check her ticket,” she said.

“What a way to start the week! It couldn’t be better knowing it’s gone to a local and regular customer.

“Congratulations to her!”

Currumbin man contemplated changing winning numbers just weeks ago

A Currumbin man admitted he thought about changing the numbers he’d been marking his lottery entries with for the past twenty years just a couple of weeks ago but is now thankful he didn’t.

Confirming his life-changing win with us this morning, the winner explained he’d been running on adrenaline.

“Bloody hell!” he laughed.

“I am so nervous and so tired! I haven’t slept since I checked the ticket on Saturday night!

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for 20 years and I felt as though I wasn’t having much luck, so I almost changed the numbers a couple of weeks ago.

“Something made me stop and I am so glad!

“It couldn’t have come at a better time.

“We’re retired so we can really enjoy it. We have plenty of children and grandchildren we can share it with!”

The Currumbin man picked up his life-changing 12-game marked entry at Currumbin Fair Newsagency, Shop 13, Currumbin Fair, Bienvenue Drive, Currumbin Valley.

Currumbin Fair Newsagency owner Barrie Parmenter said it was the third division one winning entry the outlet had sold over the years.

“Congratulations to our winner!” he said.

“We are all so happy for him. It’s great to see this prize go to a local and regular customer.

“Let’s hope this is the beginning of plenty more big wins for our customers!”
