Forget socks and jocks, a Hobart man discovered the ultimate Father’s Day gift yesterday – an unforgettable $2 million windfall from the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The stunned Tasmanian held one of the 10 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4291 on Saturday 3 September 2022. Each division one winning entry scored $2 million.

The dad was obvious to his windfall and enjoying Father’s Day at home when we made contact yesterday.

“Oh Jesus! Oh god!” he exclaimed.

“This is unreal! I’ll have to try and calm down a bit.

“I can’t believe it. It’s just amazing! It’s doing my head in.

“It’s a bit of a shock to the system.

“I’ve been playing those same numbers for decades. I’ve played them every week and it’s finally paid off!

“I don’t even remember why I chose those numbers. I’ve won other prizes along the way, but nothing quite like this!

“I’ll help my children first, and then after that, I don’t really know. Maybe some holidays around Australia.”

The man’s winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Sorell Lucky Agency, 31 Gordon Street, Sorell.

Sorell Lucky Agency manager Debbie O'Shea said she was celebrating her outlet selling a division one winning ticket.

“I was amazed when I saw we’d sold a division one winning entry. To think we had made someone a multi-millionaire overnight!” she exclaimed.

“I'm sure our lucky winner will be beside themselves with excitement.

“I'm not sure how many we've sold in total over the years, but we have sold two division one winning entries during the past 18 months, and we can’t wait to do it again.

“We would like to wish our latest winner the biggest congratulations. It's just wonderful!”
