A selfless Leanyer man plans to use nearly every single penny of his $660,000 TattsLotto win to look after his nearest and dearest, confessing the people around him matter the most.

The Northern Territory resident held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4333, drawn Saturday 28 January 2023, and takes home $661,518.90.

The winning entry was unregistered, which means we had no way of contacting the winner to break the exciting news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

The generous man discovered his windfall when his wife prompted him to check his TattsLotto ticket after she heard of a mystery division one winner in the area.

“I’m getting teary!” he cried when our team confirmed the windfall.

“I’m a bit nervous, but it’s life-changing.

“It’s so surreal for my family.

“My wife messaged me last night to say someone had won division one in the area. She told me that the ticket was purchased at Leanyer Newsagency.

“I told her that my TattsLotto ticket was purchased at Leanyer Newsagency, and she didn’t believe me! I even sent her the ticket with the newsagency name.

“I took the TattsLotto ticket straight to the newsagency and they scanned it. Next thing I knew, they told me that I won division one!

“The first thing that comes to my mind is to help the people around me rather than myself.

“This is going to help a lot of people.

“Thank you so much.”

The winning entry was purchased at Leanyer Newsagency, Shop 18 Hibiscus Shoppingtown, Cnr Leanyer Drive and Vanderlin Drive, Leanyer.

Leanyer Newsagency owner Jason Barling said his team had the pleasure of revealing the life-enhancing news to the local winner.

“We’re overjoyed to have sold a division one winning entry to a local man, and couldn’t be happier that he’s now discovered his great win,” he said.

“It’s fantastic news for the local community, and we’re sure many people are happy for the winner.

“We sold two division one winning entries more than six years ago, and they were sold a few weeks apart.

“Congratulations to the winning man and his family. We’re so happy for you and thank you for supporting our newsagency!”
