A Gundagai woman has found herself in a state of shock after checking her Saturday Lotto ticket to discover she was the mystery $1.8 million winner the Lott had been searching for.

The regional New South Wales player held one of the 11 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4049 on Saturday 9 May 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $1,818,181.82.

Confirming the life-changing news with or team this afternoon, the woman explained she’d just checked her ticket at her local newsagency.

“Oh wow,” she eventually managed.

“Thank you! Thank you so much.

“Oh god. I just can’t believe it. I cannot believe it.

“I just checked the ticket. I had absolutely no idea.

“I saw on Facebook today that there had been a winner in Gundagai so I thought I’d better check it.

“I didn’t actually think it could be me! It’s incredible. I can’t believe it.”

The overwhelmed winner could only think of her family when asked how she planned to enjoy her good fortune.

“I really don’t know, it certainly hasn’t sunk in yet,” she said.

“I think my husband will have a heart attack when I tell him this.

“We will certainly be sharing it with our family. That’s all I can think of at the moment.

“It’s just amazing! Unbelievable.”

Gundagai Newsagency owner Penny Nicholson said she was overwhelmed with excitement when she discovered her outlet had sold its first division one winning entry.

“When I read we had sold a division one winning entry I had to keep re-reading the notification,” she explained.

“It’s fabulous news!

“We are all so happy for the winner. We have a very tight community and good news like this is so welcomed.

“Congratulations to the winner. We are absolutely delighted for them.”
