A Thornbury man has declared his $730,000 division one win in TattsLotto couldn’t have come at a better time confessing he was in the midst of considering retirement.

The Melburnian held one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 4269 on 18 June 2022. Each entry won a division one prize of $731,699.38.

Sharing his excitement with us, the jovial man confessed he went to purchase another lottery ticket at his local newsagency and was left stunned by the winning revelation.

“It’s great. I can’t believe it!” he cheered when his prize was confirmed this morning.

“I went down to my local newsagency yesterday afternoon and gave the team member my Tatts Players Card to purchase another lottery ticket.

“Out of nowhere, she told me that I’d won division one on one of my older tickets - I had no idea!

“I couldn’t stop smiling. It’s pretty life-enhancing!

“It was just the other week that I met up with my financial advisor to talk about my retirement plans.

“This has come at the most perfect time!”

His winning entry of 12 random numbers was purchased at Normanby News & Lotto, 638 High Street, Thornbury.

Normanby News & Lotto owner Melissa Bleszcz said she was pleased to share the exciting news with her winner.

“It’s wonderful news! We were closing last night, and I went outside to bring in some of the signs and books, and the customer was standing there ready to purchase another ticket,” she relayed.

“I’d scanned his TattsLotto Players Card and it said he’d won a major lottery prize. He had absolutely no clue!

“It was an exciting moment to share with the winner and I’m grateful I was able to deliver the thrilling news to him.

“Our team is so happy to have sold a division one winning entry to a local customer who continuously supports us. Congratulations to the winner and we wish him all the best!”
