Hey mates, Doug here with your December Set for Life update. (Holy dooley it’s December!)

The end of the year is fast approaching and like many Aussies, I’m looking forward to spending time with family over the holidays, hitting the beach (the surfing is going great), and catching up with friends. Hopefully you’ve also got a bit of rest and relaxation lined up!

But before the sun fully sets on 2019, you’ll have to indulge me in a bit of sentimentality. The last 12 months at Set for Life HQ have been incredible and I can’t help feeling chuffed to bits with the winners we’ve made and the dreams we’ve helped inspire.

Nine Australians* became Set for Life this year, each taking home that amazing First Prize of $20,000 every month for the next 20 years. On the 15th of December, they’ll see their bank account balloon as they celebrate another $20K Day, just in time for Christmas.

Of course it’s impossible to pick a favourite winner from the year, but I still get a real kick when I remember the reaction of the Townsville crane driver who said he was going to kiss night shifts goodbye when he discovered his win. Or the Cleveland woman who gathered her whole family around to hear us break the news over the phone. And the Cairns jet-setter who had her sights set on a trip to Japan, and, and— and this is why we can’t pick favourites. Our Set for Life family has really grown!

This year we hit a major milestone of welcoming our 50th First Prize winner, only to have two more thrilled winners follow soon after. We finish 2019 with an incredible 52 Aussies getting $20K on Replay.

We’ve also paid out more prize money than ever before, with $9,460,000 going to our First Prize winners in the 12 months from January to December— just the tip of the iceberg on their 20-year prize.

It’s been a busy and exciting year and we can’t wait to do it all again in 2020!

Don’t forget that daily draws continue all through the holiday period and take place every night of the week at 9pm (AEST). So, while there’s only 18 days left in the year, that’s still 18 opportunities to become Set for Life before 2019 ends.

From myself, Amanda, and everyone here at Set for Life HQ we wish you a Merry Christmas and a winning year ahead.

Figures correct at date of publishing. By 31/12/2019 two more winners won Set for Life First Prize bringing the total First Prize winners for 2019 to 11, and total First Prize winners collectively to 54.
