A Mackay man was today surprised to discover he’d become $164,000 richer after his Super 66 entry in the weekend’s draw won first division.

The overjoyed retiree admitted he was clueless about his super win until he checked his Super 66 ticket today.

“That’s a pretty good start to the day!” the excited winner exclaimed.

“I check my tickets once a week and when I was in the newsagency today the owner said to me that he thought I’d won something big!

“What great news! I’ve always played Super 66 and until now the most I’ve ever won is around $600 a few years back!

“I’m retired so $164,000 is going to go a long way. I’ll think it through but reckon I might have a bit of a splurge and spend a little of it on a treat for me!”

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The division one winning Super 66 ticket was purchased at News on Bridge, Shop A07 in Parkside Plaza, 245 Bridge Road in Mackay West.

Neil McCartney is the owner of News on Bridge and was over the moon when he discovered his outlet had sold a division one winning ticket in Super 66.

“This is our first division one win so we were extremely excited when we found out,” Mr McCartney said.

“Mackay has been going through some tough times lately so it’s great to have some positive news like this for the community.

“We’d like to congratulate our latest division one winning customer and wish them all the best for the future.

“Now we’ve had our first division one win, we’re really keen to add to our tally so fingers crossed we have some more very soon!”

It was the only entry that scooped the entire first division prize pool of $164,311.00 in Super 66 draw 3645.

The winning numbers in Super 66 draw 3645 on Saturday 25 June 2016 were 3, 6, 2, 3, 7 and 0.
