“Best mistake ever” leads Boronia man to $2 million win

For one Boronia man, his Monday started like any other. He had errands to run, a few jobs to complete, and then he got an unexpected phone call from us.

“Ok, I’m pulled over! I’m ready! What have you got to tell me?” he said in anticipation.

That was our cue to tell him he had won TattsLotto twice and scored himself a $2 million prize.

“It’s crazy! I never imagined I’d get those exact numbers once and win, let alone twice!” he said through hysterical laughter.

“I play every week and I usually just press ‘play it again’. I didn’t realise I had pressed it twice.

“It’s the best mistake ever! I’d be happy to make a few more mistakes like this one!”

The generous man plans to pay his good fortune forward and use his prize to donate to charity.

“We didn’t believe it. We still don’t believe it," she said.

“We’re still thinking about exactly what we’ll do with it.

“It’s likely we will put it towards a deposit on a house and then we’re going to buy a new car each!"

“Hang on, I need to sit down. I am all over the place!” she exclaimed when we broke the winning news.
