While a lottery win can land anywhere and at any time, this week was definitely South Australia’s time to shine!

$2.9 million Saturday X Lotto win reignites the grey nomad dream for Kilkenny couple

A Kilkenny couple were the first of our surprised South Australian winners for the week.

They had a dream-come-true discovery when they checked their Saturday X Lotto ticket shortly after the draw.

“We’ve been using the same numbers for years and years, so we knew they were our numbers straight away,” the emotional husband explained.

“You know, we certainly aren’t rich people, and we haven’t been able to buy a house or anything like that, so for us, this changes absolutely everything!

“We aren’t going to retire yet, but. We will keep working for a few years, but this definitely gets us one step closer to our dream of being grey nomads!"

Port Adelaide man announces retirement after $1 million Monday Lotto win!

Just two days later, a second windfall landed in the festival state and made one happy Port Adelaide man a millionaire and a retiree all in one night.

“This is one of the best days of my life. It’s completely life-changing!” he exclaimed.

“I called all of my family last night and told them and they were blown away.”

The thrilled winner laughed that he can’t wait to tell his boss he’ll be resigning.

“To be able to retire years earlier than I ever planned is just incredible,” he said.

Mossman man comes forward to claim $1 million Wednesday Gold Lotto prize

While South Australia held the spotlight, there was still plenty to celebrate in other states, including the moment one Queenslander was finally united with his prize a week after the draw.

“I’d forgotten about the ticket!” the Mossman winner explained.

“I’ve been camping with no reception and hadn’t checked it until now.

“It’s hard to believe that I’ve finally won the big one.”

Raworth woman almost threw away her $200,000 Lucky Lotteries windfall

Another unclaimed prize found its winner this week when a New South Wales woman uncovered a Lucky Lotteries ticket she’d had for two months.

“I nearly threw it in the garbage! It was amongst my Bunnings receipts,” the bewildered winner said.

“This is absolutely amazing! I really had one of those days where I needed some good luck.

“My husband seriously won’t believe me!” she laughed.

With tax time approaching you might be looking through your receipts too. Make sure to keep an eye out for any lottery tickets you haven’t checked.

There’s almost $20 million in unclaimed division one prizes across our jurisdictions and we would love for more Aussie players to make a winning discovery!
