We are proud to announce the Lott, through Tatts, is the official green room sponsor for this year’s Channel 9 My Room Telethon in Victoria.

As part of this sponsorship, we are donating $100,000 to support My Room’s ambition to achieve a 100% cure rate for all childhood cancers.

My Room is a volunteer-run organisation and has been dedicated to increasing the survival rate of childhood cancer for over 25 years. In this time, It has raised more than $17 million for research, clinical care, family support, and to improve the quality of life for children with cancer.

Sadly, cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease and Australia continues to have one of the highest rates of childhood cancer in the world. An average of 750 children aged up to 14 years are diagnosed with cancer each year. Of these, almost half (48%) are under the age of five.

The My Room Telethon is a crucial fundraiser that will help fund life-saving medical research, research grants, and family care and support. The money raised will support the important work done by The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Monash Children’s Hospital, Murdoch Children’s research institute, as well as other key beneficiaries.

The three-hour Telethon will be broadcast on Channel 9 on Thursday 29 August 2019 and aims to raise $1.4 million towards helping sick children and their families.

My Room CEO Margaret Zita said funds raised from the Channel 9 My Room Telethon would continue to support four funding pillars: family support, medical equipment, clinical care, research and clinical trials.

“We are really grateful for the support of the Telethon from all sectors of the community. We hope to achieve our goal of raising more than $1.4 million on the 29 August,” she said.
