“I never thought this would happen! Holy moley!

You can imagine our delight when just a day after speaking to our winner from Emerald, a Set for Life fortune was won yet again, this time going to a 20-year-old student from Glenelg!

“Oh my god!” she laughed.

“I was actually at uni in a lecture and I checked my emails and saw one from you telling me I’d won something. “I didn’t think much of it, so I just logged into my account quickly and that’s when I realised.

“I was shocked! But since I was in a lecture, I couldn’t really react. That was so hard because I just wanted to scream and jump up and down!”

The hard-working student plans to finish her studies but was straight away dreaming of buying her mum a new house and car and admitted the win has turned the year around for her family.

“They didn’t believe me! They just kept saying ‘no way, it’s not true’,” he laughed.

“I am known as a bit of a prankster, so it was hard to convince them I wasn’t joking!”

To commemorate the exciting moment, the man said he plans to get a tattoo of the winning numbers. We have an ‘ink’ling his win will be unforgettable regardless!

University of Queensland’s COVID-19 vaccine results spark optimism from researchers

In some winning news for the country, the University of Queensland released an encouraging update on the progress of their COVID-19 vaccine this week. Their pre-clinical trials show the vaccine they’ve developed triggers the immune response needed to protect against the disease.

Earlier this year, we were honoured to donate $1 million to help accelerate UQ’s research, and we’re incredibly proud of this Australian team comprised of some of the top researchers in the world. While it’s still early days, the results are promising, and the team is working on the next steps needed to move this vaccine into production.
