A Merimbula woman has admitted she’s finding it difficult to comprehend she’s $50,000 richer after discovering an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she was given as a gift yielded her a top prize.

The ecstatic woman’s winning $4 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Merimbula Newsagency, Shop 7, 33 Market Street, Merimbula.

Speaking to us this afternoon, the elated woman explained she was still in a state of shock despite her win being officially confirmed.

“I’m feeling great! It’s unbelievable,” she shared.

“I was given the ticket as a gift about a week ago.

“When I scratched it, I couldn’t believe it. I triple checked it and got my husband to triple check it as well.

“I still don’t really believe it. I don’t think I’ll believe it until I see the money in the bank. I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch.

“I’ve been so nervous I’d jinx it and wake up to discover it’s all been a dream.

“It’s great to hear you confirm the win, but it still doesn’t feel real.

“It really is wonderful though. “It’s lovely, truly lovely.”

When we asked her how she planned to spend her instant windfall, the happy woman shared she was busy organising an extended holiday around Australia.

“I want to go on a road trip throughout Australia and then I will give some to my family,” she explained.

“I celebrated with my husband this week, we popped a nice bottle of champagne.

“We were absolutely over the moon.”

Merimbula Newsagency owner Russell Cromarty said he was thrilled to have sold a winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“We are very pleased for the winner,” he said.

“We hope she enjoys her prize and we wish her all the best.

“This is the biggest prize we have sold! So it’s great news for us and we will be celebrating in store.

“We hope to sell more winning tickets in the near future and deliver some big wins to our customers.”
