A Surry Hills woman is still buzzing with excitement after spending the weekend celebrating winning $250,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The Sydney resident scratched one of the top prizes on a $10 ticket which was purchased at World News, Shop 9, K1 World Square Shopping Centre, Sydney.

“I bought the scratchie on Thursday and completely forgot about it and then I remembered it was in my handbag on the weekend,” she explained to us while claiming her prize.

“I pulled it out and started scratching away.

“When the symbols started appearing one by one, I didn’t believe it!

“I had to check the ticket over and over again and I had to get everyone who was in the house to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.

“I was blown away! It was just amazing.

“It was certainly a weekend I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.”

When asked how she might enjoy her $250,000 prize, the regular Instant Scratch-Its player said she first needed to come to terms with her exciting news.

“Well, I haven’t decided just yet,” she said.

“I need to let the news sink in!

“I will certainly be taking it easy for a little while and I won’t be stressing about bills or anything else.

“It’s a great feeling!”

World News owner Jenny Jin said her outlet had been on a winning streak.

“We are so happy for our latest winner,” she said.

“People tell us we have plenty of good fortune in store, so that’s why they keep coming back.

“We’ve sold plenty of big prizes over the years and we hope it continues for our many loyal customers.”
