Dandenong retiree to be crowned ‘Father of the year’ with plans for $100,000 lottery win
While it might’ve been all about dads on the Father’s Day last weekend, a Dandenong man is looking to treat to his five children with his $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot win.
The victorious Victorian won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10671, drawn Tuesday 6 September 2022.
As well as winning the 1st Prize, the gleeful retiree also won a consolation prize of $1,000, bolstering his total windfall to $101,000.
When we called the winning man straight after the draw, he and his daughter answered the phone on the first ring.
“Oh, oh! Wow! I’ve won!” he cheered.
“I don’t usually check the results until the following day.
“I have a system – I wake up, do my exercises, look at the mail, and then look at the results.
“I would’ve never known until tomorrow. Thankfully, you called!
“It’s like I’ve solved a puzzle. I’ve beat the odds. I’ve done it!
“This is wonderful! I’m stunned.”
“Oh my god, dad! Holy s***!” one of his daughters added.
“You’ve made him very happy. He’s shocked!
“Funnily enough, I even gave him another Lucky Lotteries ticket this morning as a belated Father’s Day gift. He loves it!”
When asked how he planned to spend $101,000, the Melbournian immediately knew it would go to his family.
“I’ll probably share thirty or forty thousand around with my children,” he said.
“For now, I’m going to sit back and relax. I’ll enjoy this moment with some bubbly.
“I’m the only one in the family who had a crack, so I’m not sharing the winning glory with anyone else!”
His winning entry of two consecutive numbers was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
