Dream of winning the lottery comes true for Sydney CBD family
A Sydney family’s dream of winning the lottery has come true scoring the 1st Prize in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The New South Wales players won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10351, drawn Monday 17 February 2020. As well as winning the 1st Prize, the family also won a consolation prize of $1,000 boosting their total prize to $101,000.
This morning an official from the Lott spoke to the daughter, who explained how a tradition of buying Lucky Lotteries led to the win.
“It was always my mother’s dream to win Lucky Lotteries,” the daughter shared.
“She’s enjoyed buying tickets every few weeks throughout her life, but she’s in an aged care home and isn’t able to get to a newsagency anymore.
“My sister and I have been buying the tickets for her ever since.
“It was the only lottery game she played and she always talked of winning it and being able to share it with us.
“When I scanned the ticket and saw the win I couldn’t believe it. I made my sister check it and we almost cried from happiness.
“We told our mum we won, and she was so happy! She couldn’t believe it’s actually happened.”
The emotional woman explained that her mother only had one wish, and that was for her daughters to enjoy the prize.
“She doesn’t want any of the prize,” she said.
“All she wants is for us to share it, that’s what she’s always wanted. So my sister will have half and I will have the other half.
“We will definitely buy something for mum. She deserves it.”
The winning entry was purchased at Darling Park Newsagency, Shop 5, Tower 1, 201 Sussex Street, Sydney.
The team at Darling Park Newsagency said they were thrilled to have made their customers $100,000 richer.
“We are thrilled for the winners, it’s amazing news,” they said.
“They are very deserving, and we couldn’t be happier for them.
“Fingers crossed we sell some more major prize entries to our winners! It’s an amazing feeling being able to help change someone’s life.”
