Eight months after the draw, a Maclean couple have today come forward to claim their $100,000 Lucky Lotteries prize, revealing their winning ticket had been sitting in a safe the entire time.

The New South Wales players won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10399, drawn Monday 10 August 2020.

The ticket was unregistered, so we had no way of contacting the winners to break the news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

Speaking with us today, the delighted duo said the win had given them great joy.

“We’ve actually known we won this prize the entire time,” the winning man laughed.

“We checked it straight after the draw and we couldn’t believe it! I remember thinking ‘oh yeah, baby!’.

“We couldn’t stop shaking!

“You just can’t believe it! We checked the ticket over and over again to be sure.

“It’s given us a complete sense of relief.

“We’ve kept it in a safe ever since that day! We planned to just let the news sink in before we claimed the prize.

“For us, it’s like a million dollars, so we wanted to be sensible with our prize and make sure we used it wisely.”

When asked how they intended to enjoy their windfall, the jovial couple admitted they’d spent the last few months making plans.

“We have a few bills we want to pay first,” the winning woman continued.

“Then we both want to help our families and there are a few things the kids need.

“The rest we want to keep in the bank for a rainy day. “All of our money stress has completely disappeared, which is amazing for us.”

The winning entry was purchased at Maclean Newsagency, 227 River Street, Maclean.

The Maclean Newsagency team are thrilled the winners have now claimed their prize and wish them all the very best.
