Umina man’s week starts on a high with $100,000 Lucky Lotteries win
An Umina man has had a Monday morning like no other, checking his Lucky Lotteries ticket nearly a week after the draw to discover it was worth $100,000.
The New South Wales player won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10420, drawn Wednesday 21 October 2020.
Confirming his win with us, the man explained he’d just scanned the winning entry.
“Thank you very much,” he laughed.
“I’m very happy!
“I just went into the newsagency to check my ticket. I had no idea I was holding onto a winning one!
“I’ve never won anything like this in my life.
“I’m extremely happy. I’ve probably been playing Lucky Lotteries for decades.
“This is a godsend!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the man explained it was time to get a few jobs done around the house.
“I’m retired, so I’ll certainly find time to enjoy it,” he explained.
“I’ll probably use it to get some renovations done around the house.
“It’s a good win, it’s great!
”The winning entry was purchased at Umina Beach Newsagency, 303-305 West Street, Umina.
Umina Beach Newsagency owner Gregory Handley said he was happy to see the winner come forward.
“We’ve been searching for this winner since last week,” he said.
“He was in complete shock when he checked his ticket, he was speechless, but I could tell he was very excited.
“It’s always great to see these prizes go to locals. It generates plenty of excitement and enthusiasm in the community.”
