A Batemans Bay man is struggling to believe he’s woken up a millionaire, admitting he’s been dreaming of winning the lottery since 1979.

The New South Wales player held one of the three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4112, drawn Monday 13 September 2021. They each scored a division one prize of $1 million.

Confirming his win with our team this morning, the man explained he’d just sat down to check his ticket.

“Thank you,” he laughed.

“It’s good — it’s great!

“I’ve been playing for many, many years. Since 1979 to be exact, so I am glad this day has finally arrived!

“I’ve been patiently waiting for a long time. I got an email this morning, so then I checked my ticket and I almost fell over.

“It’s great!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the elated winner said he needed time to let the news sink in.

“I am not too sure at the moment,” he said.

“I might buy a house or something. We will just have to wait and see.”

His winning System 9 QuickPick entry was purchased at Cignall Batemans Bay, Shop G39 Village Centre, 1 Perry Street, Batemans Bay.

Cignall Batemans Bay employee Jenna Crompton said the win was exciting for the region.

“This is such great news,” she exclaimed.

“We’ve sold a few division one winning entries in the past and it is always exciting.

“Congratulations to them, we hope they really enjoy their prize!”
