Marking his Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto entry with family birthdates has made a Bracken Ridge man a newly-minted millionaire.
The Brisbane man held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3765 on Wednesday 16 May 2018.  Each entry scored the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
When a Golden Casket official made contact with the winner to deliver the dream-come-true news this morning, the man admitted he had already been celebrating his win with his family.
“I checked my ticket last night about 10pm. I knew I had some of the numbers as I’ve been using the same sets of numbers for decades – they’re some of my kid’s birthdays.
“My head was spinning last night! It’s scary!

“I didn’t get to bed until 2am! We were celebrating. Today I’m lacking sleep.”

But amid the celebrations, the man kept his ticket safe and sound.
“I hid the winning ticket last night. I hid it under the esky! Others thought I should put it under the pillow!” he laughed.
The man shared he had previously won division two twice – again with entries using family birthdates.
“So far I’ve been a lucky person,” he said.
“Registering your tickets is a good idea you know. When I get the numbers and check the ticket, it’s not hard to miss a number!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked 12-game QuickPick entry from Bracken Ridge Post & Lotto, Shop 2, 154 Barrett Street, Bracken Ridge.
Bracken Ridge Post & Lotto owner Gail Zielke said she was thrilled to have sold a division one winning entry – especially as she only took over ownership of the outlet a fortnight ago.
“It’s a great way to start the day knowing one of your customers has won a million dollars,” she said.
“We can’t wait to share the news and decorate the store.”
The six winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3765 on Wednesday 16 May 2018 were 25, 41, 32, 16, 6 and 11, while the supplementary numbers were 21 and 17.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries – one from Queensland and one from South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 375 so far this financial year, including 90 won by Golden Casket customers.
