A Mooloolaba man has had a morning to remember after discovering he is now $1 million richer from winning division one in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.
The Sunshine Coast retiree held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3761 on Wednesday 2 May 2018. He also won a division four prize, taking his total prize to $1,000,025.35.
When a Golden Casket official made contact with the winner to deliver the dream-come-true news this morning, the man eagerly answered the phone and confessed he already knew he was now a millionaire.
“I’ve been up pretty early and I looked at it online. I thought ‘that can’t be right’, so I left it for a bit,” he said.
“Then I went and had another look. By the fourth look I said ‘gee, I’d better wake my wife up’.

“I told my wife we’d won two prizes – one is $25 and she had to guess the other one.  She said ‘$1000? $2000?’. It was lovely!

“We won a Gold Lotto prize of $900 about six years ago and we were over the moon then.  Imagine how excited we are by $1 million!”
The Mooloolaba man plans to use his Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto windfall to upgrade their retirement plans.
“We’re going to buy a boat and have a holiday,” he declared.
“It’s perfect! It’s the icing on the cake!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 18-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The six winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3761 on Wednesday 2 May 2018 were 15, 4, 14, 16, 29 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 35 and 20.
Across Australia, there was only one division one winning entry – an online entry from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 353 so far this financial year, including 86 won by Golden Casket customers.
