A Melbourne CBD man is ditching work early today after discovering he became a millionaire from winning division one in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The Victorian player held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3901, drawn Wednesday 4 September 2019. He takes home a division one prize of $1 million.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the newly-minted millionaire also won division two 6 times, division three 24 times, division four 150 times and division five 120 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,044,283.30.

When we called the winner this morning to break the news he had just stepped out of a work meeting.

“That certainly makes for a very nice Thursday,” he laughed.

“That is fantastic! “It has made my week so much brighter!

“I am going to have a nice bottle of red wine tonight to celebrate.

“I think I might take the afternoon off work. I won’t be able to concentrate!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the thrilled man declared he would go on a holiday to New York.

“I will pay off the mortgage first,” he explained.

“I’d love to go on a holiday to New York with my family too. We might go on a big trip in the new year!”

The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Bourke Street Lotto, 42 Shop 12, Target Centre, 236 Bourke Street, Melbourne.

Bourke Street Lotto owner Nhan Trinh said he was thrilled to have discovered his outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“What a lucky person!” he said.

“We are very happy for our winner and we wish him all the best with his prize.

“We have sold some major prizes in the past, but this is the first Monday & Wednesday division one winning entry.

“It’s celebrations in the outlet today. We’ve been telling all of our customers and they’re hoping they’re a division one winner next.”
