The search has officially been called off for Morayfield’s newest millionaire, with a local man coming forward today to claim his million-dollar Wednesday Gold Lotto prize.

The Queensland entry was the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3917, on Wednesday 30 October 2019, and takes home a division one prize $1,000,000.

Confirming his win with us, the man explained he’d just checked his ticket at the newsagency.

“Thank you very much,” he laughed.

“This quite a pleasant surprise. It’s certainly going to take a while for this news to sink in.

“I’ve been marking my entries with these number for around a decade.

“I have no idea why I chose those numbers all those years ago but I am so pleased they’ve finally been drawn.

“I never thought this would actually happen to me!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar fortune, the modest man revealed he wouldn’t be making any drastic changes and would be back at work early Monday morning.

“I’ll probably buy a new home to begin with,” he said.

“I will definitely keep working. I couldn’t imagine not working. I love my job.

“I will certainly be celebrating this weekend!”

The million-dollar winning Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto ticket was purchased at Nextra Morayfield Plaza News, Shop 28, Morayfield Shopping Centre, 171 Morayfield Road, Morayfield.

Nextra Morayfield Plaza News owner Ken Allan said he was thrilled his latest winner has finally checked his winning ticket.

“We’ve been checking tickets for the past two days, hoping to scan the division one winning entry,” he said.

“We’re so happy that our customer has now realised their good fortune and can spend the weekend celebrating.

“It was absolutely fantastic to discover we’d sold Wednesday night’s only division one winning ticket. We’re rapt!

“We’ve sold plenty of division one winning entries over the years and the excitement never fades.

“Congratulations to our winner from all our staff. We’re so thrilled for him!”
