A Morphett Vale man’s breakfast was happily interrupted this morning by the revelation he was South Australia’s latest division one winner — the sixth during the past fortnight.

The Adelaide winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 3995, drawn Wednesday 29 July 2020. He takes home a division one prize of $1 million.

Speaking to us this morning, the happy man recounted the moment he realised he was now a millionaire.

“I only just checked my ticket this morning,” he explained.

“I was having my porridge and thought I would check it. I’m still in my pyjamas. I don’t think I’ll get out of them now!

“Wow! It’s just unbelievable. My wife is fainting on the lounge.”

The regular lottery player said he bought his winning ticket while on a recent escape to the Barossa Valley.

“We were just passing by the newsagent and thought we’d buy a ticket. I’m glad we did!” he exclaimed.

“My wife and I love to travel, and now, whenever we can travel again, we’ll fly first class. We’d love to do South America one day.”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 12-game QuickPick entry at Tanunda Newsagency, Shop 8-10, 121 Murray Street, Tanunda.

Tanunda Newsagency manager Ann Boehm said it was great to sell a division one prize — the outlet’s first.

“How exciting! A big win here in Tanunda,” she exclaimed.

“Hopefully, it will lift the spirits of our customers during these trying times.

“I’m currently putting up signage everywhere saying we sold the winning ticket. We’ll be letting everyone know we have sold a winning ticket and we are now a lucky shop!

“We can now say it is possible, and we look forward to selling the next winning ticket.”
