A hard-working Ormeau mum has had her busy workday interrupted with the life-changing news she is now a millionaire after scoring division one in last night’s Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.

The Gold Coast local held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4043 drawn Wednesday 13 January 2021. Each winner takes home a division one prize of $1 million.

When we phoned to break the news to her this morning, the shocked woman confessed she had locked herself in her office to let the news sink in.

“Oh my god! I’m just in the middle of something. It’s been such a busy day at work. I’ve been smashed this morning,” she explained.

“Oh my god! I feel a bit sick. It’s good news. I’m so busy, but this interruption is worth it!

“I don’t know what to do! Oh my god! This is life-changing! You have no idea. I can’t believe it.

“Oh my god! I’ve locked my office door so no one can bother me.

“I’m going to have to take an extended tea break to calm down and let the news sink in.

“I’ve been playing on and off for a few years now. I put an entry on sporadically when I feel like it.

“I’ve always told my family I would win one day. I’ve always said I’d be happy with a smaller win like a few hundred thousand dollars.

“But a million dollars! Wow! It’s just crazy. I never thought it would happen.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy life as a newly-minted millionaire, the hard-working woman said it would allow her to take a long-overdue holiday.

“I’m going to help my kids and grandkids!” she declared.

“I’ve never owned my own home, so I’ve never been able to help them own one either, so this will go a long way to giving us all a head start.

“I started working when I was 16, and I’ve never really stopped working. I’ve never been a real holiday.

“This will be life-changing for all of us for sure!”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 12-game QuickPick entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
