A Ringwood man has confessed he is contemplating an early retirement after discovering he scored a $1 million division one prize in Wednesday’s Lotto draw.

The Melbourne local held one of three division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3943, drawn Wednesday 29 January 2020, taking home a division one prize of $1,000,000.

Confirming his million-dollar win with our team, the man explained he’d just checked his ticket at his local newsagency.

“I’m totally shocked! I just went to check my tickets and put on more tickets for next week and they told me I had a big win,” he explained.

“It definitely caught me by surprise. It’s just amazing!

“It’s a bit of a shock to be honest.

“The first thing I did was call my wife. She’s over the moon!

“I think she is still in shock too!

“We’ve been playing the same numbers for 34 years I reckon.

“They aren’t birthdays or anything like that, just our favourite numbers.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a millionaire, the overjoyed winner confessed he would soon be clocking off from work for good.

“I’ve been contemplating retirement in the next couple of years, so I would say that it will definitely be on the cards a bit sooner,” he admitted.

“I have to head back to work now though and I’m not sure how I am going to get through the afternoon.

“I’ll need to settle down for the afternoon and then do some celebrating this weekend.”

The thrilled winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 12-game marked entry at Tobacco Station Eastland, Kiosk K126, Eastland Shopping Centre, 171-175 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood.
