A Berowra woman says her prayers have been answered and her life has been turned around after winning $1 million in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw.

The New South Wales woman is the state’s newest millionaire, holding the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3835, winning the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

Confirming her win with us this afternoon, the woman explained how she first realised she had become a millionaire overnight.

“I went to the newsagency this morning to put on a Powerball syndicate for my work colleagues,” she explained.

“The newsagency owner told me someone who purchased an entry at his outlet had won $1 million last night and said I should check my tickets.

“So I handed them over and he checked them. He took me aside and told me it was me.

“I just went to pieces. I was absolutely beside myself.”

The generous winner explained she had been hoping for a way to help her loved ones when the windfall landed her way.

“I just feel so unbelievably blessed,” she cried happily.

“These things just don’t happen to me. I am so truly grateful.

“It’s an answer to all my prayers.

“I can’t even begin to tell you the difference this is going to make for my family.

“I’ll help my children and the charities close to my heart.

“I’ve been praying for a way to help the people around me and now I can.”

The million-dollar winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto ticket was purchased at Berowra Shopping Village Newsagency, Shop 8/1C Turner Road, Berowra Heights.

Berowra Shopping Village Newsagency owner Parminder Signh said the prize couldn’t have gone to a more deserving customer.

“We feel so emotional and happy when our loyal customers win division one,” he explained.

“It’s the best feeling, it’s like we have won ourselves!

“We wish our winner all the very best.”
