A Cranbourne man has confessed he dropped to the ground and started screaming, shaking and crying when he checked his Oz Lotto ticket this morning and was told he had won $5 million.

The Victorian held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1420 on Tuesday 4 May 2021. He takes home a division one prize of $5 million.

Speaking with us moments after his discovery, the Melbourne man said he was rendered speechless by the exciting news.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” he exclaimed.

“I literally just found out! I am in complete shock.

“I just walked into the newsagency to check my ticket as I was out getting a coffee.

“The lady at the counter was looking at me funny and so I asked if something was wrong.
“She had this huge smile on her face and said ‘you’ve won division one! You’re a multi-millionaire!’.

“I dropped to the ground and started screaming!

“I couldn’t stop shaking. It’s insane.

“I always said I was going to win one day!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his multi-million-dollar windfall, the astonished winner had one thing in mind.

“This prize is all for my family,” he declared.

“All I can think about is my kids right now. I just want to look after them and set them up for the future.

“My family is my number one priority! They’re my only priority. I can’t even think about what I would do for myself with the prize.

“I am sure I will do something to celebrate! Right now, all I want to do is just sit and think about it all.”

The winning marked 5-game entry was purchased at Cranbourne Authorised Newsagency, 105 High Street, Cranbourne.

Cranbourne Authorised Newsagency manager Trissa Yang said her team was elated for their new multi-millionaire.

“Woo-hoo! We’ve had a division one winner!” she giggled.

“It was so nice to not only sell the winner the ticket, but also be able to break that news to him.

“When he found out, he dropped to the ground and started cheering and crying! It was an incredible moment.

“It’s an amazing win for him! We wish him all the best.

“We haven’t sold a division one winning entry in a while, so it’s so exciting. We’ve been sharing the news with all of our customers and they’re stoked for us.”
