More than 36 hours after the numbers were drawn, the Hervey Bay resident or visitor who purchased their winning entry from Nextra Fraser Gateway Newsagency has yet to come forward to claim their $30 million Oz Lotto division one prize.

Golden Casket officials are eagerly waiting to unite the whopping windfall with its rightful owner and encourage anyone who recently purchased an entry in Hervey Bay to check their tickets now!

It’s the second time during the past four years that Nextra Fraser Gateway Newsagency, Shop 22-23, Stockland Shopping Centre, Urraween, has sold a division one winning entry. In June 2014, the outlet sold an entry that landed one of its customers more than $1.29 million.

The Hervey Bay entry was the only division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1229 on Tuesday 5 September 2017, which offered a jackpot of $30 million – the fifth biggest Australian lottery jackpot so far this year.

Tuesday night’s $30 million winning entry was unregistered so the identity of the new multi-millionaire remains a complete mystery.

Nextra Fraser Gateway Newsagency owner Ian McKechnie said he hoped the $30 million winner discovered the dream-come-news soon.

“It’s brilliant to have sold another division one winning entry!  Hervey Bay is clearly a lucky area for big division one wins,” he said.

“This massive win has been the talk of the town during the past 24 hours.  We’ve had a lot of people coming to check their entries hoping they might hold the winning ticket!”

Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto win is the second division one win to land in Hervey Bay during the past week.  A Hervey Bay retiree won $1.6 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto $20 Million Superdraw.

Hervey Bay also holds the record for having Australia’s single biggest individual lotto win – in 2016, Hervey Bay grandparents won $70 million in Powerball.

Golden Casket spokesperson Matt Hart said while Queensland winners had up to seven years to claim their lottery prizes, he was keen to unite the Hervey Bay winner with their $30 million as soon as possible.

“It’s crazy to think that someone out there is going about their week oblivious to the fact that they’re now Australia’s newest multi-millionaire!

“How would $30 million change your week? Just imagine how a win of this magnitude could change your life and the lives of your loved ones for the better.

“Winners tell us they keep their lotto tickets in lots of weird and wonderful places around the home, car and workplace, so it’s worth having another look to see if you have the winning Oz Lotto entry.

“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning Oz Lotto ticket, hold on tight to that ticket and phone 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process!”

Golden Casket reminds players of the importance of registering their entries to a Winners Circle Card so all of their prizes are secure and they can be contacted directly with the good news of a big win.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto’s $30 million draw 1229 on Tuesday 5 September 2017 were 16, 45, 4, 35, 8, 28 and 27. The supplementary numbers were 22 and 34.

Last financial year, 18 Oz Lotto winning entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions won more than $182 million.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 291 so far this calendar year, including 78 won by Golden Casket customers.
