The lives of a semi-retired couple from Mill Park were changed forever this morning when they discovered they had won the division one prize of $6 million in last night’s Powerball draw.
The couple held the only division one winning entry across Australia in last night’s Powerball draw 1120 on Thursday 2 November 2017.
When a Tatts official phoned to break the life changing news, the husband asked if they could call back later as he wanted to wait until his wife could also hear the multi-million dollar win confirmed.
“Thank you so much! Oh my god!” the wife exclaimed.
“I’m beside myself at the moment!” the husband added.
The couple admitted the win had come at a great time for them as a family member was experiencing health concerns.
“Our day has already improved a lot! Thank you!
“It has come at a really good time for us as we’ve had some medical expenses to pay for recently.

“We’ll buy another house. My hubby has always wanted a farm, as he used to look after horses so he’ll be able to run his own horses now.

“We’ll share it with our children, they need it more than us!
“They probably won’t believe us when we tell them, we are still trying to absorb it ourselves!”
The regular players said winning division one wouldn’t stop them playing their weekly entry.
“We’d love to get this call again someday! It was the sweetest phone call we’ve ever received!”
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their 50-game QuickPick entry from Mill Park Newsagency, Shops 1-4, The Stables Shopping Centre, 314-360 Childs Road, Mill Park.
Mill Park Newsagency owner Atul Yamdagni said they were thrilled to have sold the winning entry.
“Wow! Six million dollars for one of our customers! What a great win for them!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve put a sign out the front and have been telling everyone we’ve sold another division one winner – we sold another one just six months ago!
“Congratulations to the winner, we wish them all the best with their prize!”
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1120 on Thursday 2 November 2017 were 3, 4, 30, 33, 32, 23 while the all-important Powerball number was 4.
Across Australia there were only one winning entry in Powerball draw 1114.
Last financial year, 18 Powerball division one winning entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions won more than $273 million.  During this time, the biggest individual division one Powerball prize was won by a syndicate of Queensland Government workers who took home $55 million.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 341 so far this calendar year, including 123 won by Tatts customers.
