There’s just one day left in the countdown to Powerball’s mind-blowing $70 million jackpot!

Following seven weeks of jackpotting, the first division prize pool has risen to $70 million.

If you want the ‘power to change it all’, grab your ticket in tomorrow night’s Powerball draw!

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Elissa Lewis said the $70 million Powerball jackpot is the equal second-largest jackpot offered in the game’s history, and this is only the third time it has reached $70 million.

“Excitement is building and queues are already forming at lottery outlets around the country as the clock counts down to tomorrow’s Powerball draw,” Ms Lewis said.

“If one entry wins the entire division one jackpot prize, it would set a new record for the largest Powerball prize won in Australian lotto history.

"The current record for the largest Powerball win to date is $58.7 million when a single Powerball entry scooped the entire division one prize on 5 June 2008.”

Ahead of Thursday’s draw NSW Lotteries asked almost 4,000 Australians whether they had any superstitious lotto rituals such as buying from the same outlet or playing with special personal numbers.

Ms Lewis said the research revealed that 46.2 per cent of customers like to choose their numbers randomly while 30.8 per cent of customers are likely to choose their own numbers based on birthdays and anniversaries.

“Interestingly females are equally as likely to use birthdays and anniversaries as random numbers when choosing their lotto numbers,” Ms Lewis said

"At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter where you buy your ticket or the way you choose your numbers, you just have to be in it to win it, so why not some fun with it!

"Customers will no doubt be dreaming about how their life could change if they shared in Thursday’s $70 million division one prize pool!

"Our advice is if you want to guarantee the winning Powerball number you can play a PowerHIT entry! With a PowerHIT to win division one, you only need to match the first six winning numbers.

"And importantly, get in early to avoid the queues and grab an entry for your chance to win Powerball’s $70 million jackpot and have the power to change it all!”

Tickets can be purchased from NSW Lotteries outlets and online from until 8:30pm AEDT tomorrow.

The $70 million Powerball jackpot draw will take place tomorrow, Thursday 7 January 2016.
