An online player who purchased an 18-game entry using their own special numbers has claimed the entire first division Powerball prize pool of $25 million overnight!

The all-important Powerball number was 5, and the other winning numbers in Powerball draw 1030 on Thursday 11 February were 1, 8, 21, 30, 22 and 33.

The sole-winning entry was purchased online in the Northern Territory, but the mysterious winner will enjoy their new found fortune anonymously.

After five weeks of jackpotting, the $25 million Powerball win still lies in the wake of the mind-blowing $70 million Powerball prize in early January this year which was claimed by grandparents from Queensland’s Hervey Bay with a 6-game marked entry.

However in the Northern Territory, last night’s Powerball prize has just trumped the $20 million Oz Lotto prize which was won with a Pick 6 entry belonging to a Darwin store syndicate at Bardens Pharmacy with five members in August 2015.

Tatts spokesperson Claire Taylor said a Powerball windfall of $25 million could be a massive lifestyle enhancer for the winner who now has the opportunity to cross off everything on their bucket list.

“With a giant prize of $25 million, the Powerball winner could really fulfil all of their life-long dreams, just on a much bigger scale now!” she exclaimed.

“Just imagine! Even simple things like Friday pizza night at home, could be supersized to pizza night in ROME with a first-class flight and a weekend away to explore! The possibilities are endless!”

Ms Taylor said that just like the winning 18-game marked Powerball entry, research had revealed that 47.1 per cent of people would prefer to choose their own lucky numbers to play based on birthdays, anniversaries and other significant numbers.

While the rest (52.9 per cent) were happy to have their numbers randomly selected and computer generated such as a QuickPick entry or by marking a random pattern on the coupon.

“Our study has shown that women were much more likely to be sentimental when picking their favourite lotto numbers rating almost twice as high as men (65.2 per cent compared to 34.8 per cent) for selecting birthdays and anniversaries,” Ms Taylor said.

“Perhaps this could explain why men are often criticised for forgetting anniversary or romantic dates such as Valentine’s Day,” she jokingly added.

In last night’s draw there were also seven division two winning entries that each won more than $77,000! Four division two winning entries were purchased in South Australia and one each sold in Tasmania, New South Wales and Western Australia.

Powerball will offer a $3 million division one prize in next Thursday’s draw.

Want to wake up on Valentine’s Day with a share in $20 million?

Ms Taylor said that if you missed out on winning a prize in last night’s Powerball draw, there was still another chance to put your numbers and heart on the line in this weekend’s $20 million Valentine’s Superdraw.“

Cupid is waiting in the wings ready to take aim on lotto lovers with division one arrows from the $20 million Valentine’s Superdraw prize pool this Saturday 13 February,” she said.“

Our research recently revealed that just over half of singles looking for love (51 per cent) and people currently dating (51.9 per cent) agree that winning a share of $20 million would improve their love life!“

And that’s no wonder given the amazing things people said they would spoil their Valentine with if they did win a division one share, including treating their loved one to a holiday to their dream destination (41.4 per cent), a once-in-a-lifetime experience (17.2 per cent) or a flash new car (16.4 per cent)!“

We’re in the business of making division one dreams come true, but if lotto players put their numbers and their hearts on the line this weekend, we could be adding matchmaking to our services too!” she laughed.

“A whole lotto love could stem from just six numbers, so make sure you buy your entry for a chance to swoon over a share in $20 million. It’s a heart, skip and a jump away!”

Tatts spokesperson Claire Taylor said while there’s no mystery about who the winner is, Tatts wanted nothing more than to talk to the winner to break the dream-come-true news and watch them ride off into the sunset with their lotto riches, if only they’d answer our call.

“The winners’ phone has most likely rung off the hook with the countless attempts we’ve been making to speak with them about their exciting windfall,” Ms Taylor laughed.“
