A Chambers Flat man says he’s set for his upcoming retirement after finally checking his Saturday Gold Lotto ticket and discovering he’s spent the week unaware he’s been a millionaire since the weekend.

The south-east Queensland player held one of the four division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4053 on Saturday 23 May 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $1,232,163.59.

Confirming his life-changing prize with us this morning, the man explained he’d just checked his entry online.

“Thank you very much,” he laughed

“I’m feeling a little bit emotional. It’s incredible.

“I can’t believe this is true! My heart is thumping.

“I’ve been playing for a long time and I’ve had little wins over the years but this is amazing.

“I’m due to retire at the end of the year and with so much uncertainty at the moment I’ve been worried about it but now I am set!

“I feel amazing!”

When asked how else he planned to enjoy his division one fortune, the winner said he’d need some time to think.

“I certainly need to get a few things done around the house,” he said.

“I’ve got plenty of time to think about exactly how I will enjoy it.

“Not having any retirement worries anymore, no problems or questions about how I am going to fund my retirement, that’s a great feeling.

“This will last me for the rest of my life!”

The overwhelmed winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Logan Village News, Shop 4, Logan Village, 2-12 North Street, Logan Village.

Logan Village News manager Grace Kuhl said the outlet had been on a winning streak.

“It’s great to add another division one win to our list,” she said.

“We’ve sold plenty across the years and it’s always exciting.

“Congratulations to our winner.

“It’s so exciting to know this prize has gone to one of our local and regular customers.”
