Mother’s Day magic: $3.3 million Gold Lotto win for North Lakes mum
Despite having to work on Mother’s Day, a busy North Lakes mum has had a Mother’s Day she’ll never forget, discovering she won more than $3.3 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto Superdraw.
The generous mum held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3945, drawn Saturday 11 May 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $3,333,333.34.
Confirming her win with a Golden Casket official this morning as she completed the school drop-off, the woman revealed the moment she discovered she was suddenly a multi-millionaire.
“Oh my god. Thank you! That’s just amazing,” she cried with joy.
“It feels so good to hear this news confirmed!
“I got up for work on Sunday morning and opened my Mother’s Day card and then I decided to check my Saturday Gold Lotto ticket online.
“And I thought ‘there’s no way this could be right’.
“So I got my ticket out and started circling the winning numbers, and I had them all in game one. I couldn’t believe it!
“Then I went to work and I was very distracted all day.
“I couldn’t wait to get home! I was wondering all day if it was real!
“It was an amazing Mother’s Day present!”
The overjoyed winner revealed the $3.33 million prize would be life-changing for her entire family.
“I’m going to help set up my children up for the future,” she said.
“We’re going to buy a house for ourselves because we’ve been renting forever. I always thought we would be renting for the rest of our lives but we will finally be able to own a home!
“I’ve always dreamt of just buying a new home and furnishing it beautifully so now I’ll be able to do that!
“I’ve never been overseas either so we will definitely be travelling. And I’ll be able to buy a new car! I will also be able to cut down on work.
“It’s just amazing! I still can’t believe it!”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Nextra Warner, Shop 14, Warner Village Shopping Centre, 353 Samsonvale Road, Warner.
Nextra Warner employee Cathy Raymer said it was the first time they had sold a division one winning entry.
“It’s just amazing! We’re all so excited!”
“It’s so nice to hear it’s gone to a local family!
“We’re absolutely thrilled for them and wish them all the best!”
