A Shepparton man has confessed scoring a $830,000 division one prize in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw was the perfect occasion to crack open a nice bottle of whisky he’d been holding onto for years.

The thrilled winner held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4063, drawn Saturday 27 June 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $797,002.74.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the happy man’s marked System 10 entry also scored division three 24 times and division four 90 times bolstering his total prize $830,372.34.

The stoked bloke’s win is the third division one win to land in the Shepparton region in seven days after two locals took home division one wins in the previous week’s TattsLotto draw.

Speaking to us this afternoon the winner recounted how he discovered the life-changing news.

“I was just about to head to bed on Saturday night when I checked the time and realised the TattsLotto results would be up,” he explained.

“I checked my ticket on the app and thought ‘What the hell! That can’t be right!’ I couldn’t bloody believe it!

“I woke a family member up and told them I had won. They said ‘That can’t be right, now go back to bloody bed!’

“So I went back to bed and barely slept.

“I got up first thing in the morning and checked the numbers and that’s when I knew it was true!”

The tired, but happy, winner revealed he had marked his winning entry with his special numbers.

“I’ve been playing those numbers for about 15 years I reckon,” he explained.

“They are family birthdates but the rest I just chose myself.

“I don’t know why I chose them, but I’m glad I did!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his life-changing windfall, the overjoyed winner said he knew exactly what he’d do with it.

“I’ve been talking to my family about it and I’ve decided I’m going to invest in some property,” he declared.

“I’m still in shock I think. I’m not sure I will believe it until it hits my bank account.

“I’ve got a nice bottle of whisky that I’ve had for years that has never been opened.

“I’ve been waiting for the right occasion and so as soon as the money hits my bank account, I’m going to open the bottle!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked System 10 entry at Centre Fair Lotto, 181 Maude Street, Shepparton.

Centre Fair Lotto owner Vince Crivelli said he was very excited to discover his outlet had sold its first major prize.

“We are thrilled to have sold our first division one winning entry!” he exclaimed.

“Our customers are very happy for us too!

“We wish our division one winner all the best!”
