The Gold Coast has lived up to its reputation as one of Queensland’s lottery hotspots, with two Broadbeach women taking home division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto $20 million Superdraw.

The Gold Coast residents each held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3945, drawn Saturday 11 May 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $3,333,333.34.

The first Broadbeach local to discover her multi-million-dollar win was a young mum who couldn’t believe the news when we confirmed her unexpected windfall.“No way,” she cried.

“Thank you. Oh my god! I can’t believe it.

“Thank you so much!

“I just checked my ticket and thought ‘I hope I win $10 so I can put it on Oz Lotto’.

“Oh my god! I just cannot believe it.

“I had no idea! And I had no idea it would be this much!

“I bought this ticket off the cuff last week when I was shopping!

“This is the best news for my family. It’s just amazing.

“This is life-changing! I can’t believe this is happening!

“My husband won’t believe me at all! This type of thing just doesn’t happen to us!”

The over-the-moon winner said she’d spend the rest of the day thinking of what they’d do with $3.3 million.

“I don’t know yet because I have never actually thought about what would happen if we won division one! I have no idea!” she laughed.

“We can at least pay off the mortgage! And maybe look at buying our dream waterfront home.

“We can set the kids up with schooling. Maybe we will be able to take them on a holiday! I would love to take them to Disneyland!

“Oh my goodness. I am speechless!

“I mean I already won lottery with my family but this is bloody amazing. This is the best Mother’s Day gift ever!

“This is just so crazy!”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Resort News, Shop 1621, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, 2-30 Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach.

Second Broadbeach winner answers phone to news she’s won $3.33 million

After multiple attempts, this afternoon we finally got in contact with the second Broadbeach winner who also had no idea she’d won division one in the weekend’s draw.

“What? Oh my goodness,” she questioned as she heard the news.

“That’s unbelievable. Thank you! Wow!

“I feel numb. That is just incredible!

“I only play occasionally but I’ve always said ‘you’ve got to be in it to win it’!

“That’s amazing!”

The winner revealed her $3.33 million windfall wouldn’t mean she’d stop working.

“I love my job so I will definitely keep working,” she said.

“I’m going to have to really think about what I will do with the prize.

“There’s definitely a few animal charities that I will be giving generously to.

“I will certainly share it with family and friends and do some travelling that I haven’t got to just yet!”

Her $3.33 million winning entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
