Having celebrated the discovery of their Saturday Lotto win on Australia Day with meat pies and sausage rolls, an Erskine Park couple is now happily planning an Australian odyssey with their prize.

The couple held one of the nine division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4123 on Saturday 23 January 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $678,308.17.

“Our heads are spinning!” the winning husband exclaimed when we confirmed their prize.

“My god! I’m freaking out!” his wife added.

“On Monday night, my wife told me someone at Erskine Park won division one on an unregistered entry, but I didn’t think much of it,” the husband explained.

“Then she mentioned it again on Tuesday morning and I thought I should probably check our ticket.

“I’ve been marking our entry for years with family birthdates and a couple of random numbers. They’re very special numbers to us now!

“We celebrated with sausage rolls and meat pies, and a glass of Moscato! We just felt in the mood. What the hell! Cut loose!

“This prize doesn’t make us millionaires, but it’s life-changing for us.

“This gives us an opportunity to retire earlier than we thought we could. We’d also love to get a caravan and explore parts of Australia.

“What an Australia Day! It’s amazing!”

The winning entry was purchased at CTC Erskine Park Tobaccoland, Shop 3-4, Erskine Park Shopping Village, 184 Swallow Drive, Erskine Park.

CTC Erskine Park Tobaccoland team member Ziad Shanoudi said the outlet was “super excited” to have sold another division one winning entry.

“The last time we sold a division one winning entry was about four years ago,” he said.

“These are the moments in life you wait for. This is an exciting time for our store and our customers. Let’s hope we sell more division one winning tickets soon!

“All our customers were very happy and excited to see someone in Erskine Park win division one. They’ve been coming in and checking their tickets hoping it was them.

“We would like to congratulate our winning couple on such a lovely milestone. We wish them all the best for the future to come.”
