Two brothers from the Mount Barker region have declared their year has been made after winning more than half-a-million dollars in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw. 

The retired men held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 3807 on Saturday 13 January 2018. 

Each entry won a division one prize of $592,528.67. In addition to the division one prize, the private syndicate’s marked System 8 entry also won division three 12 times, division four 15 times, bolstering their total prize to $603,392.42. 

Speaking to a SA Lotteries official this morning to confirm their win, the syndicate leader described his elation at the win. 

“This is excellent!  It’s brilliant.  It’s made my year!” he exclaimed. 

“I went to the newsagency and they said ‘I think you’ve got the big one’!  You could’ve knocked me over with a feather! 

“I told my brother and he couldn’t believe it either!” The happy winners plan to share their windfall with their close family. 

“We’ve been playing these numbers for about three years – I just filled in the form with random numbers,” he shared. 

“It’s life changing.  It gives us a nest egg for the future!”  

The men, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning marked System 8 entry from Mount Barker Central Newsagency, Shop 17, Mount Barker Central, McLaren Street, Mount Barker. 

Mount Barker Central Newsagency staff member Renee Schreurs said the outlet was putting up decorations to celebrate the win. 

“We’re really excited.  We’ve sold a share in a division one winning syndicate before, but this is our first true blue division one win!” she exclaimed.

“Everyone had been saying it’s our turn to win and it’s happened! 

“It’s great to have a win in the area and to such a lovely customer." 

The six winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 3807 on Saturday 13 January 2018 were 45, 36, 16, 19, 6 and 1, while the supplementary numbers were 11 and 5. 

Throughout Australia, there were seven division one winning entries – one from Queensland, two from New South Wales, one from Tasmania, one from South Australia and two from Western Australia. 

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 240 so far this financial year, including 20 won by SA Lotteries customers.
