The New South Wales pair held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3981, drawn Saturday 14 September 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $960,296.23.

Confirming their prize withour team this morning, the husband relived the life-changing moment they realised they’d won big.

“Thank you. Thank you so much,” the man laughed.

“This is absolutely wonderful!

“We checked the ticket after the draw on Saturday night and we’ve probably checked it dozens of times since then!

“I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when my wife shouted out to me to tell me we’d won division one!

“I just about choked on my toothpaste.”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their windfall, the pair revealed it would go towards their retirement.

“We will certainly be sharing it with our family,” the woman explained.

“We will probably put this towards our retirement which is only around the corner.

“It’s certainly going to make our retirement a whole lot more exciting!”

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Keppel Street Newsagency, 53 Keppel Street, Bathurst.

Keppel Street Newsagency owners Suzanne and Paul Cregan said they were thrilled to discover their outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“It was the best news to discover on Sunday morning when we opened the store,” they said.

“We had a feeling all week that we’d sell a division one winning entry and we did!

“Congratulations to the winners! We have no doubt they will really enjoy their prize.”
