An emotional Beaumaris couple have today come forward to claim their $3 million TattsLotto win, explaining they’d only checked their ticket after hearing about a mystery winner in the region.

The Victorians held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4207, drawn Saturday 13 November 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $3,001,122.85.

Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the winning woman explained why It took them a few days to discover the exciting news.

“We are in total shock! We never in a million years thought this would happen,” she laughed.

“The ticket was just floating about in my bag, and I had totally forgotten about it. It wasn’t until my daughter told me that they were searching for a winner from Beaumaris that I even remembered I’d bought an entry.

“We still had the Sunday paper and so my husband checked the TattsLotto numbers there. But it wasn’t until my daughter scanned the ticket on The Lott app that we realised we’d won.

“We were absolutely hysterical! We experienced every emotion under the sun – shock, happiness, excitement. And we cried, screamed, cheered, and laughed!

“It’s an absolute dream come true. It’s life-changing!

“My stomach is in knots and my mind is a blur.

“We had a bottle of champagne last night to celebrate, and we just talked about the win and what to do with it.

“I didn’t sleep at all last night. I need a huge cup of coffee this morning because I am exhausted from the excitement.

“I could burst into tears right now. It’s such a sweet win right before Christmas.”

When asked how they planned to enjoy the windfall, the Victorian winner explained it would be enjoyed for many years to come.

“We will help the family, of course,” she shared.

“It will mean we can retire from work early and really enjoy our retirement.

“I always said if I won, I would donate to charity, so I will definitely do that too.

“We’ll save some too so we can build a nest egg for the future.”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Beaumaris News Lotto & Gifts, 2 South Concourse, Beaumaris.

Beaumaris News Lotto & Gifts owner Elisa Luo said her team was celebrating the major win.

“It’s great that the winning couple have discovered this fantastic news,” she said.

“We haven’t had a division one win since last year, so we are thrilled to have sold another. We’ve sold about nine division one winning tickets in our time.

“Congratulations to our winner. We hope this win gives them the opportunity to realise their dreams."
