A Bendigo couple who were visiting their local café for brunch this morning received a call they never expected - revealing they’d won more than $831,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Victorians held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4209, drawn Saturday 20 November 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $831,613.44.

The winning couple initially hung up us as we tried to inform them they’d won division one in TattsLotto.

“I had no idea what you were calling about which is why I hung up on you so many times. I was sure you were just another scammer,” the winning man laughed.

“We were out on a little brunch date together, so we could barely hear what you were saying when you called.

“But you kept calling me. So, I started to think that maybe it wasn’t a scam after all. The next time you called I decided to listen to what you said, and I am glad I did.

“Once I got home, I logged into my online The Lott account and it said I’d won. I thought, ‘You beauty!’.

“I still can’t believe it. It’s amazing!

“As soon as I saw the amount I went straight to show my wife and she started crying.

“She’s still crying now! There are tears in her eyes. It’s hard to believe.

“It’s a fabulous win and will take the pressure off.

“We’ve had the most awful two years. Everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. This changes everything for us!

“We feel very fortunate.” When asked how they planned to enjoy their windfall, the delighted duo thought of their family first.

“We want to help our kids. This win will mostly be for them. We want to help them out with their homes,” the winning woman continued.

“Next year we’d love to travel overseas. There are a few places we’d like to explore here in Australia too.

“Tonight, we might celebrate by ordering some takeaway and getting some nice wine.”

Their winning marked 24-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
