A Bendigo man has confessed he happily welcomed a “bit of a shock” after checking his TattsLotto ticket online and discovering it scored him a $2.5 million division one prize.

The happy winner held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4129, drawn Saturday 13 February 2021. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $2.5 million.

The winning entry was unregistered, which meant we had no way of contacting the winner. Instead, we had to wait for the ticketholder to check his ticket and come forward to claim the prize.

Sharing his excitement with us this morning, the shocked but happy winner revealed he didn’t quite know what to do with himself after discovering the news.

“I don’t know how to feel! It’s a bit of a shock!” he exclaimed.

“I scanned my ticket online and saw that I had won. It was a very interesting moment.

“I didn’t really know how to feel. Honestly, you just don’t know what to do when it actually happens to you.

“We couldn’t do much to celebrate because we are in lockdown but as soon as we can go out we’ll do something fun!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a multi-millionaire, the overwhelmed winner admitted the news was still sinking in.

“I don’t know how we’ll spend it! I’m sure we find something to do with it though!” he laughed.

“We won’t be able to travel for a while, but perhaps down the track, we will go on holiday.

“For now we’ll put it in the bank and keep it safe!”

The winning entry was purchased at Golden Square Newsagency, 303 High Street, Golden Square.

Golden Square Newsagency owner Bill Roberts said he was happy to hear his winner had been united with his prize.

“We wish our winner well, and we hope it brings him good fortune and luck!” he said.

“It has been a trying time for our community, so it’s great to have some good news.

“We hope it helps him and his family in the future!”
