Forster grandmother still “seeing things” after discovering her multi-million dollar win
A Forster grandmother still thinks she’s seeing things days after checking her Saturday Lotto entry to discover she’s a division one multi-millionaire.
The New South Wales resident held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3977 on Saturday 31 August 2019, with each entry taking home a division one prize of $2,857,142.86.
Confirming her win with us this morning, the winner revealed she made the life-changing discovery over the weekend.
“I checked my entry on Saturday night,” she explained.
“I didn’t believe it! I thought it had to be a mistake. I checked my ticket three times and still thought I was seeing things.
“I’ve been playing Saturday Lotto on and off for decades and I just couldn’t believe it had happened to me, I had won the lottery after all these years!
“It’s fantastic. Thank you so much!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her multi-million dollar prize, the loving grandmother said there was plenty to share around.
“You always dream of winning the lottery and that you’d spend your prize on this or that but now I can’t think!” she laughed.
“We’re going to renovate the house and share the prize with the family.”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Forster Keys Mini Mart, Shop 1, 86 King George Parade, Forster Keys.
Forster Keys Mini Mart owner Ward Selwood said it was the first time the outlet had sold a division one winning entry.
“We’re incredibly chuffed about this, it’s great for the community here in Forster,” he said.
“It was so exciting to discover we’d sold this life-changing ticket and even better when we heard this prize was won by a local woman.
“We’re sure she’s going to absolutely enjoy her prize and we can’t wait to sell plenty more winning tickets!”
