A Stepney retiree has declared she’s unwrapped one of the best gift’s she’s ever received, a Saturday X Lotto ticket that yielded a $1.1 million prize. 

The South Australian woman held one of the five division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4161, drawn Saturday 5 June 2021. 

Speaking to us, the Adelaide winner said she still couldn’t quite comprehend that she was now a millionaire. 

“I got this ticket as a gift! My family bought this for me,” she explained. 

“I checked my ticket early Sunday morning – I usually get up early and read the paper. 

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I sat on it for a few hours until about 7am when I called my family. I told them, ‘I think I’ve won X Lotto!’. 

“I just can’t believe I’ve won this. It’s most amazing. I’m very happy. 

“I’ve been keeping the ticket in a safe place until I claim it.” 

When asked she might enjoy a million-dollar prize might, the winning mum said it made a great nest egg for her and her family. 

The winning entry was purchased at The Avenues Newsagency & Stationery Supplies, Shop 4, 114 Payneham Road, Stepney.

The Avenues Newsagency & Stationery Supplies owner Marcel Greco said he was thrilled to have sold a division one winning ticket.

“This is our third division one win since we took over the newsagency 14 years ago. The last one was in 2017, and every time we are delighted we have turned someone into a millionaire,” he said. 

“This is a real thrill for us. We wish our winner the best of luck and enjoyment out the windfall.”
